WASHINGTON - George Washington baseball head coach Gregg Ritchie is continuing his involvement with USA Baseball by serving on the coaching staff for the 2016 18U National Team Trials in Houston, Texas.
The trials commenced on September 16 and will run through September 23.
Ritchie, who served on the coaching staff for the 17U National Team Development Program over the summer, is serving as a field coach in the five-game, intrasquad series between the Stars and Stripes.
Forty athletes were selected to the Team Trials following a rolling invitation process that saw prospective national team members compete at a number of selection tournaments over the past calendar year.
The trials serve as the primary identification vehicle for the 2016 USA Baseball 18U National Team. Selected players will advance to the roster that will compete at the COPABE18U Pan Amercian Games in Monterrey, Mexico, September 23-October 2.
