The native of Mar del Plata, Argentina, Garino enjoyed a standout four-year career at GW, becoming a three-time Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team player who was also named second team All-A-10 as a senior. He also helped lead the Colonials to the NIT Championship and earned a spot on the All-Tournament Team.
Garino left GW having played 129 games, which is the third-most in school history. He ranks third on GW's all-time steals list with 220 while he's 11th in scoring with 1,550 points.
A double-figure scorer in each of his final three seasons, "Pato" topped out at 14.1 ppg as a senior. His outside accuracy improved greatly in his final year in Foggy Bottom, when he led the A-10 during the regular season by hitting .451 from three-point range.
In all, Garino posted career averages of 12.0 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.9 steals while shooting .508 from the field. He's one of just two players in school history to be named to the All-Defensive Team three times, joining Shawnta Rogers.
