WASHINGTON -- Eleven George Washington men's basketball players are set to compete in the 2016 Nike Pro-City Jabbo Kenner League over the next month, with play getting underway Saturday, July 2nd.
Games at McDonough Arena begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, with incoming freshman Justin Williams set to take the floor for A Wash Associates in the tip-off game. Williams and fellow freshmen Arnaldo Toro and Kevin Marfo, along with sophomore Collin Goss, will make their 2016 Kenner League debuts this weekend while the rest of the GW contingent will join in the weekend of July 9-10.
A full, tentative schedule can be seen here, while team assignments are below. All rosters, dates and times are subject to change. The regular season runs through Sunday, July 31, and the playoffs take place Aug. 4-7.
Named after one of the founders and first director of the Metropolitan Police Boys' and Girls' Club of Washington, D.C., the Jabbo Kenner League is the only NCAA sanctioned summer league in Washington, D.C. For two decades, the Kenner League has attracted high school, college and professional players from throughout the area to come together in the offseason and play in a team-oriented atmosphere that is both competitive and safe. It has also provided fans, friends and family the chance to see great hoops action in air-conditioned comfort.
Games will be held every weekend through the end of the month. Parking for Kenner League games will be in Georgetown's Southwest Garage off the Canal Road entrance to the university.
