WASHINGTON - The George Washington softball squad will host Dartmouth on Tuesday for a mid-week game at the GW Softball Field on the Mount Vernon Campus.
The Colonials (13-10, 0-2 A-10) come off a pair of losses to Atlantic 10 rival La Salle (3-6, 2-0 A-10). GW fell, 10-1, in five innings in the opener before dropping the nightcap, 3-1.
Junior Carlee Gray leads the Colonials offensively with a .403 average and was one of two players to notch multiple hits on Sunday. Gray's 2-for-4 effort included her third triple of the season.
Senior Victoria Valos also posted a pair of hits against La Salle, extending her on-base streak to 13 consecutive games, matching Olympic bobsledder Elana Meyers-Taylor ('07) for the 10th-longest streak in program history.
Dartmouth (5-11) most recently triumphed over St John's, 5-2, in a nine-inning bout. Katie McEachern leads the Big Green with a .350 average and a team-high five home runs and 12 RBIs. Her .800 slugging percentage puts her atop the Ivy League and ranks 61st in the nation.
Kristen Rumley has shouldered the bulk of the innings (67.1) in the circle for the Big Green, and holds a 2.60 ERA with a team-high 44 strikeouts while allowing just 17 walks.
Dartmouth leads the all-time series, 2-0, after taking two games in the 2013 GW-hosted Colonial Classic. Both contests were one-run games, with the Big Green taking game one, 3-2, and game two, 2-1.
Tuesday's match-up will be the first of two mid-week games for the Colonials in as many days, as the Buff and Blue head to Virginia on Wednesday.
First pitch is slated for 3 p.m. at the GW Softball Field at the Mount Vernon Campus. Fans can follow along online with GameTracker , or streaming video here.
