TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - GW golf caps its two-tournament spring break at Florida State's Seminole Intercollegiate at Southwood Golf Course in Tallahassee, Florida, from March 13-15.
GW will be part of a loaded 17-team field featuring 11 teams inside Golfstat's latest Top 100 team rankings, including top 10 programs Georgia Tech (7th), South Carolina (8th), South Florida (9th) and host FSU (2nd). Cincinnati, ETSU, Florida, Illinois State, Jacksonville, James Madison, Louisville, Mercer, Penn State, Troy, Virginia and Western Kentucky complete the field.
The Colonials recorded two of their best four rounds in relation to par of the season at last year's Seminole Intercollegiate, held on Southwood's Fred Couples' designed par-71, 7,172-yard layout.
Senior Jack Persons, junior Michael Helton, sophomores Lucas Farmer and Michael Heda, and freshman Vince Palazzolo will comprise the Colonials' five-man team.
The quintet was GW's top-five finishers at the Bash at the Beach earlier this week, highlighted by Persons' 12th-place showing and 1-under-par 212 total that matched the fourth-best 54-hole score in program history. Helton has shot 75-or-better and posted a 74.0 scoring average through his opening five rounds of the spring.
