
GW Men's Swimming and Diving Falls to Drexel

WASHINGTON - The George Washington men's swimming and diving team fell to Drexel, 162-119, at the Charles E. Smith Center Pool on Saturday.
The Colonials were led by senior Adam Rabe with two wins and two second place finishes, freshman Gustav Hokfelt with a win and three second places, senior Goran Koprivnjak with an event victory and two second place finishes and freshman and rookie Adam Drury with a victory.
Drury won the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:44.24 and classmate Parker Boutwell followed in third in 1:45.54. Koprivnjak claimed the top spot in the 100 free in 47.4 seconds, and sophomore Bogdan Balteanu and Drury earned third and fourth place in 48.07 and 48.47 seconds.
Hokfelt won the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 1:57.63. Rabe earned first in the 200-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 2:07.88, and won the 200-yard individual medley in 2:01.76.
Sophomore Liam Huffman finished second in the 500 free with a time of 4:47.25 and earned second in the 1,000 free in 9:48.66. Rabe and Balteanu clocked in at 58.66 seconds and 59.41 seconds, respectively, for second and third place in the 100 breast.
In the 200-yard butterfly, Koprivnjak (1:52.73), junior Oliver Keegan (1:57.24) and sophomore Ben Fitch (1:58.35) took home second, third and fourth. Fitch also claimed second in the 100 fly in 52.95 seconds and Keegan finished in third place in 53.05 seconds.
Hokfelt earned second in the 100 back in 53.15 seconds. Drury (22.21) finished third in the 50 free and Balteanu (22.62) earned fourth.
The 200-yard medley relay of Hokfelt, Rabe, Keegan and Fitch finished second in 1:36.74, and the 400 free relay of Drury, Hokfelt, Koprivnjak and Balteanu earned second with a time of 3:11.22.
GW heads to Towson on Saturday, Nov. 8 for a 1 p.m. meet.
