Lenhart Earns Second A-10 Weekly Rookie Honor

WASHINGTON, DC -- George Washington freshman outfielder Chelsea Lenhart was named Atlantic 10 Softball Rookie of the Week for the second time this season, the league announced on Monday.
The Phoenix, AZ, native batted .455 in three games this past week at the lead-off position. Lenhart got three hits, including a double, in a mid-week game against Princeton.
Lenhart scored two runs against A-10 foe St. Bonaventure on Saturday. In the bottom of the seventh in the first game, she singled on 3-2 pitch up the middle of the field to start the momentum for the Colonials in the 5-4 comeback victory.
In the second game against the Bonnies, Lenhart doubled in a run to put the Colonials up, 2-0, and hit a RBI sacrifice fly in the fourth to extend the lead to, 4-0. She later scored in the seventh to secure the 6-3 GW victory.
Lenhart and the Colonials take the Mount Vernon Field on Tuesday against Cornell for two non-conference games starting at 3:00 pm. Mount Vernon Field is located at 2100 Foxhall Road in Northwest Washington.
