WASHINGTON, DC - Former George Washington baseball player Chris Luick has signed a professional contract with the Tijuana Cimmarones of the Golden Baseball League. Luick, a native of Manasquan, NJ, played for the Colonials during the 2010 season as a graduate student after completing his undergraduate degree and playing at Lafayette College.

Over the summer, Luick competed in the Arizona Summer League where he batted .483 while slugging .690. His performance earned him a contract offer from the Tijuana Cimmarones, a member of the 10-team independent Golden Baseball League. Through 20 games with the Cimmarones, Luick is batting .288 with five doubles and two RBIs. He has seen regular playing time since being signed in late July.

In one season with George Washington, Luick started 53 games at first base and finished the year with a .367 batting average, third best on the team. He led the team with 23 doubles and 33 walks while ranking third on the team with 11 home runs, 53 RBI and 135 total bases. He also tied for the team lead with 13 stolen bases.

Luick graduated from Lafayette College in 2009 with a degree in Economics and Business. He is working toward his master's degree in Sports Management at GW.
