Baseball's Brendon Kelliher Named to NECBL All-Star Team

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington junior outfielder Brendon Kelliher was named to the New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL) All-Star Team July 13, in Newport, RI.
Kelliher's Eastern All-Stars team defeated the Western All-Stars, 10-0.
Kelliher plays for the Newport (RI) Gulls during the summer. Prior to the July 18 game, Kelliher won the Outfield Throwing Competition, which measured accuracy and arm strength.
A 2010 Atlantic 10 All-Conference second team selection, Kelliher batted .381 this past season for the Colonials (26-28, 14-13 A-10) with 15 homers and 13 doubles.
The 12-team NECBL was founded in 1993 and plays in all six New England states. It recruits players attending U.S. colleges from New England, the other 44 States and foreign countries. The League's summer season begins in early June and plays an eight-week 42-game schedule. The League Championship is determined by a playoff in early August.
