
Colonials Take Down St. Bonaventure 8-4, Win Fifth Straight

OLEAN, NY - The George Washington University baseball team won their fifth straight on Sunday afternoon after beat St. Bonaventure 8-4 to sweep their doubleheader against the Bonnies. The Colonials won their fifth game in a row overall and improved their A-10 record to 5-3.
Senior Chris Neary started and threw 3 2/3 innings and allowed two earned runs. Sophomore Eric Cantrell came in relief in the fourth inning and pitched the final 5 1/3 innings to pickup his third win of the season.
Redshirt junior Sean Rockey led the offense with three hits and three RBIs and senior Tim Reeves had a hit and two RBIs of his own. Freshman Ryan Thomas also continued his hot start to his freshman campaign as he collected two more hits to push his batting average up to .432 on the season.
The Colonials opened a lead in the fourth inning when they scored three runs to give them a 5-3 lead. The closest the game got to was 6-4 in the sixth inning, but two eighth inning runs sealed the game for the Colonials, who improved to 16-14 on the season and 5-3 in Atlantic 10 competition.
The team will look to push their winning streak to six games, as they host George Mason on Tuesday, April 7th at Barcroft Park. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 p.m EST. The Colonials have not named a starting pitcher yet for the contest.
