ARLINGTON, VA - George Washington- Maryland Eastern Shore In Game Blog
Leadoff walks by Tom Zebroski and Chris Holland lead to an RBI groundout by Tim Reeves as the Colonials strike first. Junior Bobby Lucas threw as a scoreless first as the Colonials lead 1-0 after one complete inning.
George Washington 1, UMES 0 -- End of 1st Inning
Lucas allows a leadoff walk, who gets to second base on a sacrifice by Hawks left field Franklin Armstrong. Lucas retired the next hitter but surrenders an RBI single to right fielder Jorge Pichardo to tie the score at one apiece. Lucas avoids further damage as keeps the score knotted at one.
In the bottom of the second inning the Colonials plated seven runs as the first seven Colonials reached base. Brandon Kelliher had a two-RBI double to key the inning and four batters walked in the frame . After two innings complete the Colonials have jumped out to an 8-1 lead.
George Washington 8, UMES 1 -- End of 2nd inning
The Wildcats plate three runs on three hits to cut their deficit to 8-4. The big blow was an RBI triple by Remo Orsini. After two and a half innings the score is George Washington 8, UMES 4.
Andrew Haberern led the inning off with a deep home run to right field and Will Cooper walked right after. Another walk by Holland setup a three-run home run by Sean Rockey pushed the Colonials lead to 12-4. Reeves followed with a walk,Kelliher doubled and Swanson walked to load the bases. Haberern singled in his second at bat of the inning to push across to more runs and conclude the scoring for the inning. All tolled the Colonials scored six runs in the frame and lead 14-4 after three innings.
George Washington 14, UMES 4 -- End of 3rd inning
Lucas surrenders a run on an RBI single by Hawk center fielder Phil Vaughn, but avoids further damage and keeps the lead at 14-5 after three and a half innings. Score is George Washington 14, UMES 5.
The Colonials load the bases in the fourth inning keyed by a Zebroski single and Reeves walk, but are unable to push any runs across in the frame. The score remains George Washington 14, UMES 5.
George Washington 14, UMES 5 -- End of 4th inning
Three hits key a three-run fifth for the Hawks as the Colonial lead is cut to 14-8 after four and a half. George Washington 14, UMES 8.
The Colonials had one base runner reach, but are unable to extend their lead in the fifth inning. The score remains 14-8.
George Washington 14, UMES 8 -- End of 5th inning
Freshman Marshall Seedorff makes his first ever appearance for the Colonials and throws a scoreless inning in relief of Lucas. Seedorff allows one hit and the score remains 14-8.
The Colonials once again put a pair of runners on base, but are unable to get any runs for the third inning in a row. The score remains 14-8.
George Washington 14, UMES 8 -- End of 6th inning
Both teams throw scoreless seventh innings as the score remains the same at 14-8.

Freshman Jay Lively enters for the Colonials and throws a 1-2-3 innings as George Washington has now shutout the Hawks for three straight frames. The Colonials go down in order in the eighth and the score remains 14-8.

Freshman Luke Mirabella comes into the game for the Colonials and throws a 1-2-3 and the Colonials win their third game of the season by the score of 14-8.
