Colonials Rally but Fall Short to Owls

PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Mark Tyndale scored 19 of his 21 points in the second half and Dionte Christmas also had 21 as Temple survived a George Washington rally and won 93-80 on Sunday.
Lavoy Allen had 19 points and Chris Clark 17, both career highs, for the Owls (11-9, 4-2 Atlantic 10), who matched their season-high point total.
Maureece Rice had 22 points, Rob Diggs 19 and Noel Wilmore a career-high 18 points for GW (5-12, 1-6), which lost its sixth in a row.
Temple led 59-42 four minutes into the second half, and by 67-57 with 11:34 left to play. Wilmore then hit two straight 3-point shots, sparking a 13-2 run and a 70-69 Colonial lead. The Owls then went on a 16-2 spurt, including 10 points by Tyndale, and moved ahead 85-72 at the 2:49 mark.
Temple led 47-37 at the half, led by Clark, who at one point hit on four consecutive 3-pointers.
