Saturday's Game: GW (7-14, 3-8) has had a week to prepare for much-improved Richmond (14-10, 7-4) which enters play Saturday tied for second place in the A-10 standings. It is the first and only meeting this season and the 81st meeting in the series. GW has faced Richmond more than any other A-10 opponent and more than all but one opponent (Georgetown--96 meetings).
• GW has won the last five straight meetings in the series including five of the last six at Smith Center.
• GW has won the last five meetings with the Spiders by average score of 71-55.

A Closer Look at Richmond: The young and much-improved Spiders come to Smith Center Saturday tied for second place in the league with a 7-4 A-10 mark, 14-10 overall under third-year coach Chris Mooney. Richmond has two players averaging double figures led by soph. F Dan Geriot's 13.9 ppg and 5.4 rebounds per game. Soph. G David Gonzalves (12.2 ppg) has hit 52 three-pointers. Freshman G Kevin Anderson is a three-time A-10 Rookie of the Week and hails from the same hometown (Duluth, GA) as GW's Wynton Witherspoon. For the season, UR is shooting 44.5 percent from the field, averages 64.0 points a game but is getting outrebounded by nearly five caroms a game.
