Colonials' Games Against Fordham, Maryland to be Televised

PHILADELPHIA, PA - The GW-Fordham men's basketball game scheduled for Saturday, Feb. 7 at Charles E. Smith Center will be televised nationally on the CBS College Sports Network beginning at 1:00 p.m., the Atlantic 10 Conference announced Wednesday.
The league also announced CBS College Sports and ESPN2, respectively, would again televise the semifinal-round games and championship final of the 2009 Atlantic 10 Championship.
Also announced on Thursday, MASN, the Official Cable Network of the BB&T Classic, will televise the 14th annual basketball double-header live on Sunday, December 7th. Coverage begins at 4:30 p.m. from the Verizon Center with a 30-minute pregame show. The Classic tips off when Navy faces Virginia Tech at 5:00 p.m., and culminates with a showdown between regional favorites George Washington and Maryland at 7:30 p.m.
MASN will air each game live and in its entirety, including pre- and post-game shows for each game. Veteran MASN announcer Bob Carpenter will join John Feinstein to provide expert analysis and play-by-play for the Classic. Carpenter joined MASN and the Washington Nationals in 2006 after 10 years in the TV booth of the St. Louis Cardinals. Carpenter worked MLB, college basketball and college football during 18 seasons of play-by-play with ESPN from 1988-2005. Feinstein is an esteemed sportswriter, analyst and commentator who has authored more than 20 books including various best sellers on basketball, football and golf. Together, Carpenter and Feinstein will cover both games, as well as the pre and post game shows.
To honor the contributions of local servicemen and women, MASN has also teamed up with the USO to provide 3,000 complementary tickets to the event to military personnel and veterans throughout the Washington region.
The BB&T Classic benefits the Children's Charities Foundation of Washington, D.C. Since 1995, the Foundation has distributed nearly 7 million dollars to charities throughout the Washington region supporting disadvantaged and at-risk children through programs to assist with health and welfare, to build strong families, and to provide educational and recreational opportunities.

CBS College Sports Network (formerly CSTV) entered into a long-term, comprehensive agreement with the Atlantic 10 Conference in January, 2006. The agreement consists of all Conference-related media and marketing rights including television, national over-the-air and satellite radio, video-on-demand, Internet, broadband, wireless, and exclusive corporate sponsorship and licensing rights to all Atlantic 10 sports during the regular season and postseason championships, including the men's and women's basketball championships.
