Golf Places Fifth at Atlantic 10 Championship

WINTER GARDEN, FL -- GW senior Dan Mirabella (Ann Arbor, MI) shot a three-round 212 (72-73-67) to tie for ninth at the 2006 Atlantic 10 Conference men's golf championship Friday-Sunday, May 5-7, at the par-72, 6,837-yard Panther Lake Course at Orange County National Country Club near Orlando, FL.
GW placed fifth in the 13-team field with a team total 860 (294-285-281) 23 strokes behind tournament champion Charlotte (837). The 49ers won the team title in their first year as members of the A-10, by three strokes over runner-up Xavier (840). Xavier's Jason Kokrak and John Streibich tied for individual honors, each with a 10-under-par 206.
GW freshman Juan Pablo Zuluaga (Bogota, Colombia) was the second lowest Colonial with a trhee-round 217, one stroke ahead of teammates Brian Carroll (Crystal Lake, IL) and Andrew Gallo (Toronto, ONT) who both tied for 20th each with a 218 out of a field of 65 individuals.
