Two More Colonials Turn Pro

WASHINGTON, DC - Two more George Washington University baseball players from the class of 2005 have signed contracts with professional teams as infielder Geoff Milsom (New York, NY / Poly Prep / Notre Dame) and left-handed pitcher Avi Rasowsky (Glenmont, NY / Bethlehem Central) joined the Evansville Otters of the Frontier League (Independent) and the Florida Marlins' Gulf Coast team, respectively.
Milsom and Rasowsky became the fifth and sixth players from the 2005 Atlantic 10 West Division Championship Team to sign with a professional organization.
Milsom hit .277 in 56 games for GW last season, primarily playing third base. Rasowsky went 2-2 in 13 games including nine starts.
Along with Milsom and Rasowsky, first baseman Ryan Roberson (Silver Spring, MD / James H. Blake), catcher Joe Michalski (Ellicott City, MD / Mt. Hebron), LHP Dan Sullivan (Stony Point, NY / North Rockland) and right fielder Brad Rosenblat (New Orleans, LA / Newman / Tulane) were also seniors on the 2005 squad that have recently signed with pro teams.
Roberson was drafted in the 30th round by the Detroit Tigers and was assigned to their Class A team in Oneonta, NY. As of July 21 he is hitting .268 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 21 games.
Sullivan signed as a free agent with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays and was assigned to their Class A team in Princeton, WV. As of July 21 he has allowed two earned runs in 7.2 innings (2.35 ERA) in six games out of the bullpen. He was nine strikeouts and has not registered a decision.
Michalski signed with his hometown Baltimore Orioles and was assigned to their Class A team in Aberdeen, MD. As of July 21 he is 5-for-25 (.200) with a double and two RBI in 10 games.
Rosenblat signed with the Brockton Rox of the Can-Am Independent League. As of July 21 he is hitting .263 with two home runs and 11 RBI in 23 games.
