TOWSON, MD - GW sophomore Laura Hostetler was selected to the Inside Lacrosse All-America Third Team on May 20. She is the first GW women's lacrosse player in program history to earn All-America honors from any publication or organization.
Hostetler helped lead GW to its first appearance in the Atlantic 10 Championship and a 13-5 overall record in 2005. She led the Atlantic 10 with 79 points, including 54 goals, both Colonials' single-season records. She also set the GW single-season mark with 25 assists and was an A-10 All-Conference selection for the second straight season. Against Saint Joseph's on April 15, Hostetler tied her own school record with 10 points, including six goals, in the Colonials' 17-5 triumph over the Hawks.
Hostetler has 99 career goals, tied for the most in school history and is GW's career leader with 141 points.
Hostetler was one of two players from the Atlantic 10 to earn to be named to any of Inside Lacrosse's three All-America teams, joining Ginger Flocco from Duquesne, who was picked to the second team. Northwestern, the 2005 national champions, had the most All-America selections with six. Dartmouth had five players honored.
