Four Colonials Named to IWLCA Honor Roll

WASHINGTON, D.C. - George Washington juniors Nicole Cozzolino (Montclair, N.J./Montclair), Jenny Heisler (Shaker Heights, Ohio/Shaker Heights), Heidi Mayer (Havertown, Pa./Haverford), and Deena Vezo (Mineola, N.Y./Mineola) each were named to the 2004 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches' Association (IWLCA) Honor Roll. They were four of 123 Division I women's lacrosse student-athletes selected to the honor roll.
The Colonials were also one of 22 Division I women's lacrosse teams to earn Academic Squad status in 2004, signifying a collective team GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Cozzolino, a psychology major, saw action in all 17 games for the Colonials in 2004, starting 16. She recorded one goal on the year and contributed 17 ground balls.
Heisler, an economics major, was the squad's second-leading scorer last season with 37 points. She started all 17 games for GW and was tied for the team lead with 32 draw controls.
Mayer, who is majoring in applied mathematics, also appeared in 17 games last year and made 13 starts. She notched 29 points (20 goals, nine assists), the fifth-highest total on the team.
Vezo, a marketing major, started 16-of-17 contests last season. She contributed 13 ground balls and seven draw controls.
The Colonials posted an overall record of 8-9 in 2004.
