GW Elevates Lombard To Head Coach for Lacrosse

WASHINGTON, DC - Chrissy Lombard has been named head coach for women's lacrosse at The George Washington University, Senior Associate Director of Athletics Mary Jo Warner has announced.
Lombard will be responsible for all aspects of the lacrosse program which enters its fourth season as a varsity program in the spring of 2005. Lombard becomes just the second head coach for lacrosse at GW. She replaces Jennifer Morris who resigned to pursue other interests.
Lombard has been the assistant coach for GW lacrosse since the program's inception in 2002. Lombard came to GW after an outstanding playing career as an All-America attack player for Boston University from 1998-2001.
A 2001 graduate of BU, Lombard led the Terriers to an NCAA berth in 2000, and a final national rank of 11. She was named the team's MVP three straight seasons and holds the BU women's lacrosse records for goals and total points scored within three seasons. Lombard also was named the America East Conference Rookie of the Year (1998) and Player of the Year three times (1999, '00 and '01).
The Colonials play their home lacrosse games on GW's Mount Vernon campus located at 2100 Foxhall Road in northwest Washington.
