Baseball's Anthony Raglani Drafted by Dodgers in 5th Round

WASHINGTON, DC - Junior Anthony Raglani (Indiana, PA/Indiana) became the first Colonial drafted in this year's Major League Baseball Draft when the Los Angeles Dodgers selected the outfielder in the fifth round (148th pick overall) on Monday. The MLB Draft continues Tuesday.
Raglani, who bats and throws lefthanded, started 58 of GW's 59 games this season and batted .322 with 12 home runs, 14 doubles and 50 RBIs. Raglani, whose full name is Jon Anthony Raglani, scored a team-high 63 runs for the 41-18 Colonials and had a .450 on-base percentage.
The finance major was named to the Atlantic 10 Baseball All-Conference first team in 2004 and, as a sophomore in 2003, was named NCBWA National Hitter of the Week on March 18, 2003.
GW's highest draft pick was Hank Bunnell (`71) who was selected in the third round (48th pick overall) of the 1971 MLB Draft by the Washington Senators.
The 2004 A-10 West Division champion Colonials (41-18, 19-5 A-10) were among the final four teams in the 2004 Conference Tournament for the fourth consecutive year.
