Anthony Raglani Named Atlantic 10 Player Of The Week

WASHINGTON, DC - George Washington standout sophomore Anthony Raglani (Indiana, PA/Indiana) was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week the conference announced today. Raglani went in 7-for-16 (.438) including five doubles and his first homer of the year. After his solo home run against Hartford on March 16th, Raglani was walked four times, scoring three of the five times he was on base in the game. He scored eight runs during the week, scoring at least once in all five Colonials wins. GW has improved to 13-4 after going 5-0 last week.
Raglani leads Colonials hitters in runs (21), doubles (9), slugging percentage (.625) and walks (12). His .375 batting average is second on the team and he has started all 17 of the Colonials games. Raglani hit two doubles in two consecutive contests and had five in three games. Raglani has hit the ball hard and had just missed several home runs before hitting his first of the year over the center field wall at Barcroft Park on March 16th.
George Washington (13-4) is off to their finest start since 1957 when the Colonials went 19-4 and advanced to the NCAA Tournament. GW has won nine-straight games and is undefeated at home this year. The club will play Georgetown at Povich Field in Cabin John, MD on Tuesday March 18th at 3:00 PM. GW returns home to play Norfolk State on Wednesday at 2:30 PM at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA.
