Bassett Named Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week

WASHINGTON, DC - Senior Mike Bassett (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) has been named the Atlantic 10 Co-Player of the Week the conference office has announced. This marks Bassett's second honor this season.
Bassett had a strong week for the Colonials, starting all six games, in which he collected 12 hits in 26 at-bats (.462). He scored in each of the six games, with 10 runs in all, two doubles and two home runs, while notching 13 RBIs. In Atlantic 10 Conference play, Bassett had 11 hits in 21 at-bats. In an April 15 doubleheader at Dayton, Bassett went 5-for-9, scored four runs and had six RBIs. At La Salle, April 20 & 21,Bassett went 6-for-12, with five runs and seven RBIs.
Bassett holds the GW career records for home runs (54), RBIs (228), and total bases (458). This season he leads the Colonials in at-bats (141), total bases (91), RBIs (51), and homers (11).
Bassett and the Colonials next play George Mason University on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:00 p.m. The game will be played at GMU in Fairfax, VA.
