The Retrievers used a complete game three-hitter from senior Todd Bloom to shut-down the Colonials' offense. Bloom struck out six batters to improve his record to 1-2.
The Colonials got a quality start from sophomore Mike O'Connor (Baltimore, MD/Calvert Hall). O'Connor pitched seven innings striking out four, and only giving up four hits and one earned run. Despite his effort, O'Connor earned the loss, dropping his record 0-1.
Junior Dan Rouhier (McLean, VA/St. Albans), freshman Tony Dokoupil (Pau Pau, WV/Severna Park, MD) and freshman Jake Wald (Alexandria, VA/T.C. Williams) got the only hits for GW.
The Colonials return to action tomorrow when they take on George Mason at Barcroft Park at 2:30 p.m.
