Walker and Crowder Earn A-10 Conference Awards

Walker was 11-23 at the plate last week with 12 RBI's and nine runs scored. Walker's biggest day was Saturday in a double-header with Cleveland State. Walker went a combined 5-7 in the double-header, including two home runs and two doubles, with eight RBI's. For the season, Walker is leading the Colonials with a .413 average and 33 RBI's. He ranks third on the team in doubles with seven and third in home runs with four.
Crowder posted a 10-20 week at the plate, raising his average to a Colonials' second best .408. Crowder had three hits against C.W. Post and scored three runs. Against Georgetown, Crowder had two hits and scored two runs. For the season Crowder has reached base safely 31 times and scored 18 times, and is a perfect 6-6 in stolen bases.
Walker's and Crowder's bats have helped spark the Colonials to their current 10-game winning streak. During the streak, the second longest in school history, GW has improved their record to 14-10 on the season. The Colonials travel to Richmond tomorrow at 2:30, the Naval Academy on Wednesday at 2:30, and open A-10 Conference play this weekend when they host rival Virginia Tech in a three-game series. There will be a double-header on Saturday beginning at 12:00 p.m., and the final game of the series will be played on Sunday beginning also at 12:00 p.m.
