Colonials' Baseball Shuts Down Le Moyne, 6-2

Washington, DC (February 27) -- The George Washington baseball team (4-6) defeated Le Moyne (0-3) 6-2 at Barcroft Park in Arlington, VA.
Sophomore pitcher Chris Worth (North Arlington, NJ/North Arlington) picked up his first career win as a Colonial. Worth pitched five strong innings and only surrendered one run to improve his record to 1-3.
Sophomore Mike Bassett (Paramus, NJ/Paramus) set the tone early for the Colonials by hitting his second home run of the season in the second inning, breaking a scoreless game, and giving GW a 2-0 lead. Bassett finished the day 1-2 with 2 RBI's.
GW added to its lead in the sixth inning with RBI singles by freshman Tony Dokoupil (Pau Pau, WV/Severna Park) and senior Matt Walker (Gibsonia, PA/South Carolina).
Le Moyne scored their only runs on solo home runs by Casey Saucke (Rochester/Churchville-Chili) and Jack Kennedy (Fairport/Fairport).
The Colonials return to action when they travel to Stockton, CA to take on Pacific in a three game series beginning Friday, March 3 at 7:00 p.m.
