Shawn Davis Signs With GW Men's Basketball

FAIRBANKS, AK (Nov. 20) -- Shawn Davis, a 6-7 power forward from Memphis's Booker T. Washington High School, has
signed a national letter-of-intent to attend The George Washington University, head basketball coach Tom Penders has
announced. He is GW's lone signee from the early signing period.
The 6-foot-7, 235-pound Davis averaged 15.1 points, 14.6 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game as a junior last season. He also won All-Region and All-District honors under coach Fred Horton.
"He is a hard-nosed player," said Penders. "He's like a football player. He gets after it. He'll be a good addition to the frontcourt."
The signing of Davis leaves the Colonials with two scholarships available for next season.
