Former George Washington gymnastics standout Chelsea Raineri (’17) joined GW as an assistant coach in August 2018.
In 2022, Raineri helped coach EAGL Gymnast of the Year, Deja Chambliss, as well as a pair of NCAA Regional Qualifiers with Chambliss in the all-around and Kendall Whitman on floor. She also helped Chambliss to a pair of event titles (vault and floor) at the 2022 EAGL Championship before the team clinched the program's third all-time EAGL crown.
A four-year letterwinner for GW from 2014-17, Raineri helped the Buff & Blue to a pair of East Atlantic Gymnastics League (EAGL) titles, with her finest individual season in 2017. She became just the third gymnast in program history to reach the NCAA Championship as an individual qualifier when she competed at the national meet on vault. She also made history as GW’s first-ever NCAA Regional Champion when she tied for first place on vault with a 9.875 at the NCAA Morgantown Regional.
A Telford, Pennsylvania, native, Raineri earned honors as a First Team All-EAGL pick on both vault and uneven bars and a Second Team nod on floor exercise as a senior, and in total accumulated seven First Team and four Second Team All-EAGL honors during her career, in addition to being named the 2014 EAGL Rookie of the Year.
Since graduating in May 2017, Raineri has been a coach and choreographer at Silvia’s Gymnastics in Zieglersville, Pennslyvania and has worked as a Marketing Events Administrative Assistant for Office Practicum. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration, concentrating in Sport, Event & Hospitality Management.
