WASHINGTON - GW men's basketball rounded out its transfer class ahead of the 2026-27 season with the addition of Andrew Phillips from Lafayette as announced by Head Coach Chris Caputo on Monday.
"Andrew provides great floor spacing with his ability to shoot the ball," Caputo said. "His experience having played a key role at Lafayette will certainly benefit him here at GW."
Phillips is a rising senior after three years at Lafayette where he appeared in 82 games for the Leopards and started 61. This past season, he started all 32 games and was the team's second-leading scorer at 13.9 ppg while playing 33.3 mpg. He knocked down 65 3-pointers at a 31% clip a year after shooting 42.5% from deep and making 48 3s in 34 games.Â
The 6-4 guard proved his might with 41 career double-figures games, including a 13-point effort at the Smith Center on Dec. 18, 2024 in an 82-62 GW win. This past season he showed his scoring prowess against top-flight competition, scoring at 17 at Saint Joseph's, 18 at Texas, 19 at West Virginia and 15 at Georgia Tech, shooting a combined 43% from deep in those contests.
A native of Chester Springs, Pa., Phillips attended Malvern Prep and comes from a basketball family with his mother, Patricia, having played at Villanova and his sister, Grace, having played at Dartmouth.
2026-27 Season Tickets for GW men's basketball are on sale now, starting as low as $125. The Revolutionaries are coming off back-to-back postseason appearances and the program's first postseason win in nine years at Utah Valley in the opening round of the NIT.
