Softball Downed at Loyola Chicago Sunday

GW softball was defeated on Sunday afternoon at Loyola Chicago, 7-1. The Revolutionaries fell to 19-18 overall with an 8-10 mark in the A-10.
Loyola Chicago jumped on GW early in the finale, scoring all seven of its runs in the first four innings. Loyola Chicago proved to be tough outs Sunday as the league-leading Ramblers had runners aboard in every inning, keeping the bases occupied with 12 hits and four walks.Â
GW's lone run came via Lucy Goodwin, who drove out her first home run of the season in the fifth inning. Goodwin now has hits in four consecutive games and RBI in three of the last four outings.
GW returns to D.C. for its final four home games of the season this week. The Revolutionaries host Georgetown on Wednesday (2:00 p.m.) for their second matchup against the Hoyas this season before welcoming in Rhode Island this weekend for a three-game set on Saturday (12:00 p.m. doubleheader) and Sunday (12:00 p.m.). GW will honor and celebrate its seniors and graduate students on Senior Day this Saturday.
