Tennis Captures First A-10 Win of 2026

The George Washington women's tennis team captured its first Atlantic 10 win of the 2026 season, defeating Saint Joseph's, 6-1, at the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center. The win also marks the first A-10 victory for first-year Head Coach Jackie Calla.

GW set the tone early with a sweep of the doubles matches. The duo of Madison Lee and Karen Verduzco improved to a team-best 7-3 on the season with a 6-0 victory in the first flight, while Victoria Sasinka and Solange Skeene grabbed their fourth doubles win with a 6-3 victory over the Hawks' second doubles team. First-years Devika Manu and Alexandra Lindqvist teamed up for their second doubles win in 2026, a 6-4 dub in the third flight.

Skeene finished her undefeated day with a 6-1, 6-3 win in first singles, giving her a 5-5 record on the year. Lee notched a 6-2, 6-0 win in the third flight, while Lindqvist notched a 6-3, 6-1 win in fourth singles to also move to 5-5. Verduzco went 6-2, 6-3 in her fifth singles victory, and Manu rounded out the win with a 6-4, 6-3 win in the sixth flight.

GW now heads south for a spring break trip to Hilton Head Island next week. GW will play three matches, including George Mason on Monday, Fordham on Wednesday and NC Central on Thursday.
