Tennis Travels to Longwood for Final Match of March

The George Washington tennis team enters the final stretch of the regular season with a road match at Longwood on Sunday morning. Start time against the Lancers is set for 10:00 a.m. in Farmville, Va.

GW is coming off a dominant 6-1 win over Howard in which it swept the doubles point and picked up victories in first, third, fourth, fifth and sixth singles. Solange Skeene led the way, sweeping her first singles match, 6-0, 6-0, while also teaming up with teammate Victoria Sasinka for a 6-2 win in second doubles. First-year Alexandra Lindqvist continued her solid start to collegiate tennis, picking up her team-leading sixth win in singles this year, a 6-4, 6-2 victory in the fourth flight. Madison Lee was also dominant against the Bison, earning a 6-0, 6-2 win in third singles and pairing up with Karen Verduzco for a 6-3 dub in first doubles.

Longwood enters the matchup 8-6, coming off a 4-2 win over Howard on Wednesday and collected a 7-0 forfeit win over Gardner-Webb this week as well. Hima Fernando and Feline van Eijkelenburg lead the program with six singles wins this season, while Oriana Izarra and Bali Song are the top doubles team at 7-3 overall.

Following Sunday's match, GW will be off eight days until April 6, when it travels to Norfolk State. The 2026 Atlantic 10 Championship is scheduled for April 22-25 at the UTSA National Campus in Orlando, Fla.
