Tennis Dropped by Liberty, 7-0

WASHINGTON – The George Washington tennis team dropped its first match of the season on Friday, falling to Liberty, 7-0, at the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center. The loss moves GW to 2-1 on the young season.
Despite the loss, GW put up a fight, taking two singles matches to three sets and pushing one doubles match to a tiebreaker. First-years Alexandra Lindqvist and Devika Manu fell, 7-6 (7-3), in third doubles, the pair's first loss of the season. Both Karen Verduzco and Manu went to third sets in singles as well, with Verduzco losing 6-4 and Manu falling 10-8. Both players move to 1-1 in singles on the year.
GW returns to action Wednesday, hosting Morgan State at 9:00 a.m. from SETLC.
