Tennis Tripped Up by Morgan State, 4-3

WASHINGTON – The George Washington tennis team fell to Morgan State on Wednesday morning, 4-3, dropping the team to 2-2 on the season.
The visiting Bears jumped on top early, securing the doubles point with wins in the second and third flights. Madison Lee and Karen Verduzco recorded GW's only doubles win of the day, defeating Morgan State's 1's by a score of 6-1.
In singles, Lee picked up her third win of the season by a score of 6-2, 6-3. Lee now leads the team in singles wins, going to 3-1 on the year. First-years Alexandra Lindqvist and Devika Manu each got into the win column in singles as well. Lindvist notched a 6-4, 1-6, 6-0 victory in the fifth flight, while Manu secured a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 dub in sixth singles.
GW heads to North Carolina this weekend for two matches. The Revolutionaries face Elon on Sunday at noon, then battle Longwood on Monday at 10:00 a.m. Follow GWsports.com for the latest news and results this season.
