Tennis Drops A-10 Opener at VCU

RICHMOND, Va. – The George Washington tennis team dropped its first Atlantic 10 match of the season on Tuesday afternoon, falling to VCU, 4-1. GW's record falls to 3-4 in 2026.
First-year Alexandra Lindqvist picked up the Revolutionaries' lone victory, a 6-2, 6-3 win in fourth singles. Lindqvist has enjoyed a solid start to her collegiate career, now with three wins in singles play and a part of a double victory with teammate Devika Manu.
Solange Skeene (No. 1 Singles), Madison Lee (No. 2 Singles) and Victoria Sasinka (No. 3 Singles) all fell in singles action against the Rams. Karen Verduzco (No. 5 Singles) and Devika Manu (No. 6 Singles) both ended their matches unfinished.
VCU swept doubles play as well, earning victories in the first and second flights. Lindqvist and Manu had their No. 3 doubles match end unfinished, despite holding a 5-3 lead at the time.
GW returns to action Sunday, traveling to Annapolis to face Navy. Match time is set for 10:00 a.m.
