WASHINGTON - GW graduate student forward Luke Hunger was named the Atlantic 10 Player of the Week on Monday following two incredible efforts in a pair of home wins.

Hunger posted back-to-back career highs last week, averaging 26.0 ppg and 8.0 rpg while shooting 68% overall, 80% from 3 and 82.4% at the line in 35.8 mpg across two wins. He's now reset his career-best scoring total (previously 15) in three consecutive games.

The Montreal, Quebec native scored 21 points in 36 minutes against Rhode Island on Tuesday, making 7-of-11 from the floor and 6-of-8 at the stripe, adding six rebounds (five offensive) and two assists. He then had the game of his career vs. George Mason Friday, double-doubling with 31 points and 10 rebounds on 10-of-14 shooting, including a 3-of-3 day from beyond the arc.

He tallied the first 30-and-10 game for a GW Rev since Tyler Cavanaugh at St. Bonaventure in 2017.

Hunger has started the last five games for GW in place of the injured Rafael Castro and has flourished, averaging a team-best 17.4 ppg and 8.4 rpg on 58.4% FG (31/53) in 32.5 mpg.

The Buff & Blue are back on the road Tuesday night at VCU. Tip is scheduled for 8 p.m. with coverage on CBS Sports Network.
