Gymnastics Earns Season-High Behind Four Career-Bests at Temple

GW gymnastics saw a successful Friday night in Philly, earning a season-best 194.350 to take second place in Temple's quad meet. The Penn Quakers earned the top slot with a 195.075, while the hosts finished third at 193.875 and Texas Woman's finished with a 193.300. The Buff & Blue also earned four of the five individual event titles over the course of the evening's competition.Â
Propelling GW to its best finish of the season were four career-high routines, three of which were earned on floor, GW's highest rotation score of the night, 49.300. Sophomore Lola Montevago earned a 9.900, while senior Catherine O'Rourke notched a 9.875 and junior Maya Peters earned a 9.825 to round out the career-best finishes on the event. Senior Deana Sheremeta won the evening's floor competition, finishing with a stellar 9.925. Sheremeta also went on to win the beam (9.875) and all-around (39.100) contests as well.
On bars, Peters earned a season-best 9.825 to win the event title. On vault, first-year Alexia Zakaryan led the Revolutionaries with a career-best 9.800 and also earned second place overall in the event competition.
