The 2025-26 slate for GW men's basketball continues to come together with today's announcement of three more dates on George Washington's home schedule, headlined by a visit from the Maine Black Bears to officially tip-off the season on Monday, November 3rd.
Season tickets for the upcoming campaign are currently on sale, and fans who purchase tickets by July 15th will have the October 18th exhibition against Georgetown in their season ticket package.
The University of Maine will feature incoming freshman Ace Flagg, twin brother of NBA #1 overall pick Cooper Flagg. Ace Flagg was also a part of the 2023 Montverde Academy team that is in the conversation for greatest high school basketball team ever assembled. A three-time state champion in three different states in high school, Flagg is joining a 20-game winner from a season ago that competed in the America East Championship game.
Another team that will visit Smith Center in 2025-26 that made a run to its conference championship game last season is the Delaware Blue Hens, helmed by Martin Ingelsby, who played and coached at Notre Dame under former GW player Mike Brey. UD visits Smith Center on Wednesday, December 10.
Also announced today is a contest vs. local foe UMBC. Also playing out of the America East Conference, the Retrievers will make the short drive from Catonsville, MD on Wednesday, November 19th. UMBC is best remembered for becoming the first-ever #16 seed to defeat a #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament when it did so against Virginia in 2018.
