Season tickets for GW men's basketball and GW women's basketball for the 2025-26 season are now on sale. This season GW will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Smith Center all year long, highlighted by a doubleheader on Saturday, December 6th, 50 years to the date after the dedication of the venue on December 6, 1975.Â
Three starters return (Rafael Castro, Christian Jones, Trey Autry) from the men's team that is coming off the program's first 20-win season in nine years and played in the inaugural Fox Sports "The Crown". Second Team All A-10 selection Rafael Castro headlines the returners after debuting for GW last season with averages of 14.0 ppg and 8.9 rpg, and the second-best, single-season field goal percentage in school history (66.0%), while recording 13 double-doubles.
'24-'25 A-10 All-Rookie selection Christian Jones led all A-10 rookies in steals and 3pt%, and ranked 2nd in points per game, field goal % and minutes per game among freshmen in the conference last season, while junior Trey Autry is back for this third year after taking a large leap during his sophomore campaign, increasing his points per game by 5.0 to 10.4 per contest and improving his field goal percentage, 3-point percentage and free throw percentage all by multiple percentage points. The anticipated return of 2023-24 four-time A-10 Rookie of the Week Garrett Johnson, after he missed last season while recovering from a torn ACL, and expected debut of a five-man transfer class of juniors Jean Aranguren (Hofstra) and Bubu Benjamin (Tarleton State) and graduate students Tre Dinkins III (Duquesne), Luke Hunger (Northwestern) and Tyrone Marshall Jr. (Western Kentucky) has GW currently projected as the 60st best team in the country by Bart Torvik.
On the women's side, the start of the Adeduntan Era in Foggy Bottom is here, and this season will feature a special homecoming for legendary GW Head Coach Joe McKeown in his final season on the sidelines for Northwestern. Coach G's roster is headlined by sophomore star Gabby Reynolds, after she was named A-10 All-Rookie last season.
The full Atlantic 10 schedule for both teams will be announced in September and fans can get in on the action now.Â
