George Washington Athletics is proud to launch its Row of Honor program for the 2026–27 basketball season, a new initiative dedicated to recognizing individuals who have made a meaningful impact through their service to their country and local community.
The Row of Honor consists of special seats inside the Charles E. Smith Center at select men's and women's basketball games to honor active-duty military personnel, veterans, first responders, public servants and other deserving community heroes whose commitment, courage and dedication to serving others embody the values of the GW community.
The initiative will recognize individuals from a variety of service backgrounds, including: military service members and veterans, active-duty personnel and veterans, first responders, healthcare heroes and public service professionals whose work contributes to the safety and well-being of others.
The Row of Honor is being developed in collaboration with GW's Office of Military and Veteran Student Services, further strengthening the university's commitment to recognizing and supporting military-connected individuals and the broader service community.
Throughout the basketball season, selected honorees will be invited to attend a GW basketball game to receive special in-game recognition as fans join the Revolutionaries in thanking them for their service.
GW Athletics invites the greater Washington, D.C., community to nominate deserving individuals for recognition through the Row of Honor program. Nominations are now being accepted for the 2026–27 basketball season here.
Join GW Athletics in celebrating those who serve as we Raise High together and honor the heroes who make a difference in our community.
