Revolutionaries travel to face potential A-10 Championship first-round opponent
WASHINGTON - The George Washington University softball team hits the road for its final three games of the regular season, traveling to Chicago to take on Loyola Chicago on Saturday (1:00 p.m. ET, doubleheader) and Sunday (1:00 p.m. ET). All three games will air on ESPN+.Â
BACK TO THE POSTSEASONÂ
Currently seeded fourth in the A-10 with a five-game lead over the first team out (seventh seed), GW has clinched a spot in the Atlantic 10 Championship for the first time since 2022. The final three games will help to determine the Revolutionaries' final seed entering the tournament; GW has the potential to finish anywhere from the third seed to the sixth seed. The 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship runs from Wednesday, May 7 through Saturday, May 10 at the GW Softball Field on the Mount Vernon Campus of The George Washington University.
TRAVIESO NAMED TO ALLSTATE NACDA GOOD WORKS TEAM
GW graduate infielder Lilly Travieso was recently named as one of 20 student-athletes from across all three NCAA divisions and NAIA to the Allstate NACDA Good Works Team (Spring). Travieso is the founder of Empowering Leadership in Latina Athletes (ELLA), a nonprofit that uplifts young Latina women through sports and academics. She was recognized with the award for her service to the community and achievements in both academics and in softball. GW softball's Ashley Corpuz is slugging her way to a historic season in the Buff & Blue, and at Tuesday's Georgey Awards, she was recognized as the top GW female athlete for the 2024-25 athletics' season. Corpuz's honor comes as she leads the conference with a 1.397 OPS, and as she nears multiple GW single-season records with just one week to go in the regular season.Â
