Rowing Gets First Taste of A-10 Foes at Saint Joseph's Invite

OVERPECK, N.J. - GW rowing took part in the annual Saint Joseph's Invite on Saturday afternoon at Overpeck Park, getting its first glimpse of some of the top competition in the Atlantic 10 in Rhode Island, Massachusetts and the host Hawks.
GW's top performing boat came via its 2V8 with placed second in the morning prelims, six seconds behind Rhode Island. The Buff & Blue came back in the afternoon and cut a second off the URI advantage, finishing in third with Bucknell stepping in between.
GW's V8 and V4 both placed third in the prelims with the V4 coming back to take second in the petite final. The V8 did not finish the petite final due to equipment breakage.
The Buff & Blue are back in action next Saturday, April 12, when they host the GW Invite on the Potomac River.
