Rowing Wins Fourth-Straight George's Cup and Class of 1998 Cup

OCCOQUAN, Va. -Â For the fourth-straight year, GW rowing swept the George's Cup and Class of 1998 Cup, topping local rivals Georgetown and George Mason on Sunday morning.
GW eked out a three-second triumph over Georgetown in the Varsity 8 to retain the Class of 1998 Cup, which is contested annually between the program's V8. The Revolutionaries have now won four straight and 13 of 22 all-time head-to-head meetings.
The Buff & Blue also came out on top in the 2V8 by seven seconds over the Hoyas and raced in second in the Varsity 4. With the two triumphs, GW won the total point competition with 17 to Georgetown's 13 and George Mason's six to earn a fourth-straight George's Cup trophy. GW has now won 10 of the 15 George's Cups.
Non-scoring races were also contested in the 3V8 and 2V4 with GW placing second in each race behind Georgetown and ahead of George Mason.
GW returns to action on Saturday at the Cayuga Duels in Ithaca, N.Y. for double duel racing against Colgate and Cornell.
