Tennis Heads West for Spring Break Trip

WASHINGTON – Coming on the heels of a 5-2 win over Saint Joseph's, the George Washington tennis team heads west to San Diego for the program's spring break trip. The Revolutionaries will play two matches at the Barnes Tennis Center, battling Augustana (1:00 P.m.) on Monday and Cal State Fullerton (5:00 p.m.) on Wednesday.
GW enters the week an even 5-5 overall and 2-1 in A-10 play after beating the Hawks on Friday. Senior Alejandra Ramirez and sophomore Solange Skeene lead GW with 6-2 records in singles action. Skeene has recorded all her victories in fifth singles, while Ramirez has notched her wins in the sixth flight. The duo of Madison Lee and Victoria Sasinka has a 6-4 record in doubles to lead the team, doing so in flight two this season.
Augustana enters the week 6-2 overall and sporting a two-match winning streak. Augustana competes at the NCAA Division II level, with all their victories coming against D-II opponents. The Vikings currently have two wins over ranked opponents this season, defeating 24th-ranked Missouri Western and 13th-ranked Kearney.
Cal State Fullerton is 4-4 this year and most recently lost to San Jose State on March 2. The Titans have wins over Santa Clara, UC San Diego, Pomona-Pitzer and Grand Canyon in 2025. Fullerton will host Colorado State prior to battling GW on Wednesday.
