Tennis Beats Augustana, Opens Spring Break Trip with a W

SAN DIEGO, Calif. – The George Washington tennis team defeated Augustana on Monday afternoon, 4-3, to open its spring break trip with a win. The victory moves GW to 6-5 on the season with one match left to play on the West Coast.
After getting swept in doubles play, GW rebounded to capture four of the six singles matches. Vaida Matuseviciute got the GW Revs rolling with a 7-6 (9-7), 7-5 victory in the second flight. Madison Lee dominated her opponent, rolling to a 6-1, 6-0 win in third singles, while Karen Verduzco grinded out a 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 win in the fourth flight. Solange Skeene clinched the win for GW, recording a 6-3, 6-1 win. Skeene moves to 7-2 on the season in singles play, best for GW thus far in 2025.
