WASHINGTON – After going 0-2 last weekend at SETLC, the George Washington tennis team returns to action on Friday, battling Saint Joseph's on the road. The Buff & Blue look to snap a four-match losing streak after starting the season 4-1 overall.
Solange Skeene and Alejandra Ramirez remain GW's most consistent threats in singles play, each sitting at 5-2 on the season. Skeene (fifth) and Ramirez (sixth) have played all nine of the team's matches in the same flight, joining Karen Verduzco (5-4) as the only members of the squad with winning records in singles action.
Skeene and Ramirez have also teamed up in doubles play for all matches this season, posting a 4-3 record. Teammates Madison Lee and Victoria Sasinka lead GW with five wins in doubles this year, all of which have come in the second flight.
Saint Joseph's is off to a 1-9 start to the 2025 season. The Hawks picked up a 5-2 victory over Monmouth in the team's season opener but have since lost nine straight matches. Included in the losing streak was an A-10 loss to Duquesne last Sunday. The Dukes topped SJU, 5-2, in Philly.
Friday's match is slated for 2:00 p.m. in Philadelphia. Follow GWsports.com for the latest news and results.
