WASHINGTON – The George Washington tennis team fell in A-10 action on Saturday afternoon to Rhode Island, 4-0. GW slips to 6-7 overall and 2-3 in conference matches this season.
The Rams secured the doubles point by capturing flights one and two. Vaida Matuseviciute and Karen Verduzco dropped the first flight, 6-2, while Madison Lee and Victoria Sasinka lost in second doubles, 6-0.
URI captured flights four, five and six in singles to secure the 4-0 win. Verduzco (fourth flight), Solange Skeene (fifth flight) and Alejandra Ramirez (sixth flight) all lost their respective matches. Sasinka, Matuseviciute and Lee's singles matches all went unfinished.
