Softball Extends Win Streak to Seven, Completes Series Sweep of St. Bonaventure

WASHINGTON - The George Washington University softball team kept the winning going on Saturday, beating St. Bonaventure, 7-0, for the third-straight game. The Revolutionaries are now 3-0 in A-10 play as they improved to 16-8 on the season with their seventh-consecutive win.

Anna Reed collected her team-best seventh win of the season as the grad student hurled a complete-game shutout. Reed was in command the whole way, striking out six and yielding no walks, while limiting the Bonnies to just three base runners.

GW's offense was quiet in comparison to Friday's doubleheader, but the home side did plenty to secure the win. The Buff & Blue left little doubt of who was in control, notching single runs in each of the first three innings - two of which were made possible by St. Bonaventure errors - to make it 3-0 after three.

St. Bonaventure nearly escaped the series without feeling the hurt from Ashley Corpuz - who the Bonnies walked more often than not - but the junior put her stamp on the finale with a bases-clearing double in the sixth to extend GW's lead to 6-0. Then in the next at-bat, Paige Hayward singled home Corpuz to put an exclamation on GW's 7-0 victory.

The Revolutionaries only totaled six hits, but they continued with their patient approach from Friday with eight walks.

GW stays home for a midweek clash with Harvard on Wednesday (2:00 p.m.), before traveling to Amherst, Mass., this weekend for the final regular-season series between GW and UMass as conference opponents. All four games in the coming week will be streamed on ESPN+.
