WASHINGTON - Coming off an 18-2 throttling of Morgan State on Wednesday, the George Washington University softball team is back home this week to open conference play with a three-game series against St. Bonaventure on Friday (1:00 p.m. DH) and Saturday (12:00 p.m.). Saturday's series finale will be streamed on ESPN+.Â
NON-CONFERENCE AROUND THE A-10
With a 13-8 record, GW is the only team in the A-10 to head into conference play this weekend having already accrued double-digit wins. Dayton (9-7) is the only other team to enter with a record above .500, and the Flyers are tied with Saint Louis (9-13) for second-most wins. The Revolutionaries also enter conference action with the longest winning streak in the league at four games.
ANOTHER TWO FENCES CLEARED
Ashley Corpuz continued her offensive tear against Morgan State with two more home runs, bringing her season total up to 10. She is now tied for 10th on GW's single-season home runs list, but with more than half the season to go, Corpuz has records in her reach.
Jenna Cone owns the top three spots on GW's single-season home runs list, topped by her record 20 home runs in 2019.
