Tennis Drops Home Match vs. Long Beach State

WASHINGTON – The George Washington tennis team fell in nonconference action to Long Beach State on Saturday afternoon, 4-2.
GW had success in doubles, picking up wins in the first and second flights to secure the point. Vaida Matuseviciute and Karen Verduzco earned a 6-4 win in first doubles, while Madison Lee and Victoria Sasinka earned a 6-1 dub in the second flight. Alejandra Ramirez and Solange Skeene also had a lead in the third flight of doubles, but that match went unfinished.
Skeene was the lone Revolutionary to pick up a win in singles action, winning 6-1, 6-3, improving to 5-2 on the season. Ramirez's match in sixth doubles went unfinished after LBSU secured the four points needed to win the match.
GW returns to SETLC tomorrow, hosting Fordham for the team's second A-10 match of the season. Start time is set for 11:00 a.m. in southeast DC.
