WASHINGTON - Under the guidance of first-year Head Coach Stephanie Worrell, the GW gymnastics team will begin its 2025 slate on the road, heading to Battle Creek, Mich. to open competition against Western Michigan, Illinois State and Pitt in the Next Level Podium Challenge.
RINGING IN THE NEW YEAR
The GW Revs finished the 2024 season with a new program record score of 197.200, alongside two individual NCAA Regional selections in returners Kendall Whitman and Maya Peters. Within the EAGL, the Buff & Blue tallied a third-place finish and earned seven all-conference honorees in co-captain Whitman, Peters, co-captain Rachel Katz, co-captain Marlee York, Deana Sheremeta, Kasey Burke and Delaney DeHaan.
ONE FINAL LAP
Graduate senior and co-captain Kendall Whitman returns to wear the Buff & Blue for a fifth collegiate season. Whitman, the reigning EAGL floor champion and senior gymnast of the year, has earned three trips to the NCAA Regionals as an individual competitor, and boasts a career and program-high 9.975 on floor.
NEW FACES IN THE LINEUP
Alongside the seven returning honorees, GW welcomes five newcomers to the 2025 squad: first-years Lola Montevago, Haley Suzuki, Natalie Thomas, Zoe Safran and sophomore transfer Alexa Chuy will all wear the Buff & Blue for the first time on Saturday evening.
ON THE OPPONENTS
Out of the Revolutionaries' three opponents, Illinois State and Western Michigan have already begun their 2025 seasons. The Redbirds placed third at the Mizzou Beauty and the Beast, posting a score of 194.800. The host Broncos opened their 2025 slate at No. 11 Michigan State, falling 194.675-196.850. Saturday's quad meet serves as the season opener for Pitt.
